We regularly release updates to WinGo Plan (mobile apps for iOS and Android, as well as the online version on the website), but we don't always talk about them. But this update is special - we're introducing a new goal tracking feature. Now the project progress, time, and goals, combined on a single chart, will help track project progress and evaluate its results. This will provide additional motivation and help minimize risks.
Project Progress: Completed Tasks, Deadlines, and Achieved Goal
Goal tracking has already become a standard feature for project management systems, but in WinGo Plan, goals don't "hang in the air" on their own. We have combined the key metrics on the project path:
- Percentage of completed tasks considering their importance - your progress on the project,
- Deadlines - time until the end of the stage and the project,
- Result - your progress in achieving the goal.
You can see what part of the stage tasks and the project as a whole is closed, and how much is left. The Wingoman (the WinGo Plan character) shows the time - you can assess the speed of task completion and the risks of the project not being completed on time. The rocket - the goal icon - shows the result you have achieved.
- Evaluate the progress towards the goal relative to the number of tasks completed - are your efforts bringing the expected result?
- Evaluate the speed at which you are achieving this result. Will you make it by the set deadline?
This approach allows you to quickly assess the situation and make a decision on further actions: continue implementing the project according to the plan, speed up or require re-planning.
Stage and Project Deadlines
In addition to goals, the display of deadlines will change in the new version of WinGo Plan. Based on your requests, we have changed the deadline display system. Many of you find it more important to see the upcoming dates, so now the time until the completion of the current stage is displayed in a circle with a countdown. The time until the end of the project will also remain, now it is displayed next to the project name.
Control of Stage Completion
Previously, the stage was automatically completed after all tasks were completed. We have made this process more controlled. Now, if you close all the tasks of the stage, the system will notify you and ask if you are ready to complete the stage. This functionality is already working on the website, and now it will also appear in the app.
By the way, the stages are now painted in their own color and visually stand out more from the tasks.
Update Release Schedule
The WinGo Plan scheduler update also includes other changes that will help you in completing tasks and achieving project goals.
The new iOS version is already available in the App Store, the Android version will appear in the Play Store a few days later.
We continue to work on a major update to the functionality of the website (the WinGo Plan web version) - it will become more user-friendly and visually more appealing. Goals, deadlines, and other project management capabilities will also be available there.
As usual, we look forward to your feedback and suggestions. Tell us what you think about the goals! Do you need to add separate goals for the stages? It all depends on you.
